Windom Football wrapup

THE WINDOM FOOTBALL TEAM LOST TO MARTIN COUNTY WEST 21-14 ON TUESDAY IN A FIRST-ROUND SECTION 3-AA FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME.
THE TEAMS WERE TIED 7-ALL AFTER THE 1ST QUARTER, AND 14-14 AT HALFTIME.  WINDOM HAD AN APPARENT TOUCHDOWN CALLED BACK ON A PENALTY LATE IN THE FIRST HALF.  MARTIN COUNTY WEST SCORED ON ITS FIRST DRIVE OF THE 3RD QUARTER TO GO UP 21-14.   MIDWAY THROUGH THE 4TH QUARTER, WINDOM DROVE TO THE MARTIN COUNTY WEST 13 –YARD LINE, BUT THE DRIVE STALLED AND WINDOM TURNED THE BALL OVER ON DOWNS.  WINDOM GOT THE BALL BACK WITH 1:24 LEFT IN THE GAME, BUT AN INTERCEPTION ENDED THEIR FINAL CHANCE.   
WINDOM OUTGAINED MARTIN COUNTY WEST, 251 YARDS TO 179, BUT WINDOM TURNED THE BALL OVER 3 TIMES. 
ALEX BORSGARD LED WINDOM WITH 89 YARDS RUSHING AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS.   LUKE GILBERTSON THREW FOR 108 YARDS, HITTING WYATT MINION 4 TIMES FOR 66 YARDS. 
MARTIN COUNTY WEST QUARTERBACK WYATT GEISTFELD HAD TWO TOUCHDOWNS.  THAI RISK LED THE BACKS WITH 58 YARDS RUSHING. 
WINDOM ENDS THE SEASON WITH A RECORD OF 3-6.  MARTIN COUNTY WEST IMPROVES TO 2-7.  THE MAVERICKS WILL PLAY #1 SEED REDWOOD VALLEY IN THE SECTION SEMI-FINALS ON SATURDAY.
