THE WINDOM CITY COUNCIL WILL HOLD A DISCIPLINARY HEARING AT 8:00 THURSDAY MORNING AT THE WINDOM CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS.   THIS IS BELIEVED TO BE CONNECTED TO A CRIMINAL MATTER INVOLVING BRENT BROWN, THE WINDOM CITY UTILITY MANAGER, STREET AND PARKS SUPERINTENDENT.  POLICE WERE CALLED TO BROWN’S HOME ON OCTOBER 14TH.  AFTER INVESTIGATING, BROWN IS FACING A FELONY CHARGE OF FALSE IMPRISONMENT, AND A MISDEMEANOR COUNT OF DOMESTIC ASSAULT.   HE HAS BEEN PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE PENDING FURTHER ACTION BY THE WINDOM CITY COUNCIL.
THE WINDOM SCHOOL BOARD HELD A WORK-SESSION THIS WEEK.    THE BOARD APPROVED THE HIRING OF A SPECIAL ED PARA-PROFESSIONAL.  THE DAILY HOURS WERE INCREASED FOR THREE CAFETERIA HELPERS.  THE BOARD REVIEWED A POLICY ON HARASSMENT AND VIOLENCE.  THE BUSINESS MANAGER REPORTED ON A DEFICIT IN THE HEALTH-AND-SAFETY ACCOUNT.  THERE WAS AN UPDATE ON THE DISTRICT BUDGET.  THE BOARD REVIEWED A REPORT ON HOW STATE AID HAS CHANGED OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS, ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION. 
A REGULAR MEETING OF THE RED ROCK CENTRAL SCHOOL BOARD WILL BE HELD AT 5:30 THIS AFTERNOON AT THE HIGH SCHOOL IN LAMBERTON.    THE BOARD WILL REVIEW A SENIORITY LIST FOR DISTRICT EMPLOYEES.  A RESIGNATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.  REPORTS WILL BE PRESENTED BY THE SCHOOL BOARD COMMITTEES, THE HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL AND THE SUPERINTENDENT.  THE MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORT WILL BE REVIEWED.
MORE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES ARE BEING HELD IN THE AREA.    ON THURSDAY, A BLOOD DRIVE WILL BE HELD AT THE WINDOM COMMUNITY CENTER, WITH HOURS FROM 1:30 UNTIL 6:30.  DONORS SHOULD BE AT LEAST 17-YEARS-OLD, OR 16 WITH PARENTAL PERMISSION.  DONORS SHOULD WEIGH AT LEAST 110 POUNDS AND BE IN GOOD GENERAL HEALTH.  YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW IDENTIFICATION AT CHECK-IN.  ALL BLOOD TYPES ARE NEEDED.
THE WINDOM CITY UTILITY COMMISSION MEETS AT 10:00 THURSDAY MORNING.   THE COMMISSION WILL DISCUSS WAGES FOR AN EMPLOYEE IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT.  A DISCUSSION WILL BE HELD ON THE RATES FOR WATER AND SEWER SERVICE.  THE COMMISSION WILL HEAR AN UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF WINDOM ELECTRIC UTILITY MANAGER BRENT BROWN.  BROWN HAS BEEN PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE PENDING THE OUTCOME OF A DISCIPLINARY HEARING.
