THE COTTONWOOD COUNTY BOARD MEETS THIS MORNING.   THE BOARD WILL REVIEW A 2-YEAR WORK AGREEMENT FOR THE COUNTY FEEDLOT PLAN.  THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON THE 2018 COUNTY BUDGET.  THE AUDIT REPORT WILL BE PRESENTED.  THE COUNTY ENGINEER WILL DISCUSS THE USE OF FEDERAL FUNDING FOR FUTURE HIGHWAY PROJECTS.  THERE WILL BE A PRESENTATION ON A WINDOW REPLACEMENT PROJECT. 
THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD HOLDS A REGULAR MEETING THIS MORNING.  CIGARETTE LICENSES WILL BE APPROVED.  THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS A GRANT APPLICATION, SEEKING FUNDING FOR NEW VOTING EQUIPMENT. A LEASE WILL BE APPROVED WITH THE DES MOINES VALLEY HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY.  THE BOARD MAY APPROVE A CONTRACT PROPOSAL WITH AN EMPLOYEES’ UNION.  
A REGULAR MEETING OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IS BEING HELD THIS MORNING.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW THE NEW 2-YEAR COUNTY FEEDLOT AGREEMENT.  AN AGREEMENT WITH THE MURRAY COUNTY RACING ASSOCIATION WILL BE CONSIDERED.  THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHWEST HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, AND CHANGES TO THE GROUP’S BY-LAWS. 
THE WINDOM CITY COUNCIL HOLDS A REGULAR MEETING TODAY.    A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ON ASSESSMENTS FOR THE 2017 STREET PROJECT, AND MISCELLANEOUS SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS.  THE BOARD WILL APPROVE A BOND RE-FINANCING.  THE TELE-COMM COMMISSSION WILL HAVE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RATE CHANGES.  A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE SCHEDULED ON PROPOSED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE EAST HIGHWAY 60 HOTEL PROJECT. 
THE HERON LAKE-OKABENA SCHOOL BOARD IS MEETING TODAY.   THE BOARD WILL CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A NEW MASTER CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH THE DISTRICT TEACHERS’ UNION.  AN OFFICIAL POLLING PLACE FOR THE DISTRICT WILL BE ESTABLISHED.  SOME EXTRA-CIRRICULAR ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE APPROVED.  THERE WILL BE REPORTS ON THE “WORLD’S BEST WORK-FORCE” PLAN, AND THE ACHIEVEMENT AND INTEGRATION PLAN.  THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS OPTIONS FOR FUTURE SPORTS-PAIRING AGREEMENTS. 
MORE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES ARE BEING HELD IN THE AREA.    TODAY, THERE WILL BE A BLOOD DRIVE AT CEDAR MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL IN MORGAN FROM 9:00 UNTIL 3:00.  THERE WILL ALSO BE A BLOOD DRIVE TODAY AT THE WESTBROOK COMMUNITY CENTER, WITH HOURS FROM 1:00 UNTIL 7:00.  ON THURSDAY, THERE WILL BE A RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE AT THE NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY IN ST. JAMES, FROM 7:30 UNTIL 11:30.   
AREA CHURCHES WILL BE HOLDING SPECIAL SERVICES FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.   THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE AMERICAN LUTHERAN CHURCH IN WINDOM, THE BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH IN STORDEN, THE RED ROCK UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, AND THE LUTHERAN CHURCH OF OUR SAVIOR IN WINDOM.   THE LUTHERAN CHURCH OF OUR SAVIOR IN WINDOM WILL ALSO HOLD A THANKSGIVING-DAY SERVICE.
A THANKSGIVING DAY MEAL WILL BE SERVED IN WINDOM.    THE LUTHERAN CHURCH OF OUR SAVIOR WILL HOST A TRADITIONAL THANKSGIVING MEAL IN THE CHURCH FELLOWSHIP HALL FROM 11:00 TO 1:00.  A FREE-WILL OFFERING WILL BE ACCEPTED, WITH PROCEEDS BEING DONATED TO THE WINDOM AREA SHARING CENTER.  TAKE-OUT MEALS WILL BE AVAILABLE.  TO ORDER A TAKE-OUT MEAL, CALL THE CHURCH IN ADVANCE AT 831-3522.  THERE WILL BE NO DELIVERIES.
